City Center Washington D.C.

Hello and welcome to my page! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to connect with me. As a licensed cosmetologist, certified Corepower Yoga instructor and beauty lover, I felt that it was time for me to share my knowledge and expertise with the world. Now I know there's about a biggilion other blogs out there, but I wanted to share some things with you to show you what makes me unique.

I currently spend most of my time painting hair at PR at Partners Downtown in Washington DC. I was immediately hooked on the instant gratification from completely transforming someone's look. I was 14 years old working at Bubbles in Gainesville, VA shampooing hair when I first realized that this was my career. You get to play, have fun and make people beautiful throughout your day- how could I not be obsessed?!

I was always the girl in highschool who wore heavy makeup and had teased hair - I had mastered the poof wayyy before Jersey Shore existed. People made comments here and there, I was called "Racoon" several times and some would say on a Monday morning, "Nice prom hair!" But I honestly didn't give a shit. My hair and makeup looked BOMB (or so I thought) and I wasn't about to change! My Dad has been blind since I was about 7 years old and had a super strict policy of no make up or revealing clothing so naturally, I rebelled.

2009 Post Graduation Shenanigans

In 2009 I was hired at PR at Partners where I was offered FREE, that's right, FREE education and I was going to take full advantage. It wasn't until then that I realized my passions had evolved. I still cherished the feeling of having someone come into the salon, and then leave looking fabulous, but it was more than that. It was seeing their self esteem and confidence illuminate the room that made my heart sing. Seeing them "feel" themselves and constantly flirting with their own appearance as they walked pass every mirrior gave my career a deeper meaning. A meaning that I had been looking for as a teenager but wasn't sure how to manifest. Self love is the best kind of love. If you don't love and believe in yourself, why would anyone else?

2015 Rockstar Educator Award

That's when in 2013, I decided that I wanted to become an educator for our company. We teach our students cut, color and our communications based course called "Rockstar." This is a 16 week course that is broken down into 2 different classes. Rockstar Foundations - Confidence Building and Rockstar Details - Defining Your Brand. These classes touch on many different aspects in the hair world and in everyday life. From properly and confidently communicating with clients, to learning about introverts and extroverts to presentation skills. We cover a wide variety of spectrums and I'm still adding to that list. From teaching Rockstar my passion had once again evolved. Students would come to the front of the classroom to present themselves; some would have a stronger presence than others, but the majority would have little to no confidence at all. I wanted to give them the courage, love and preserverance to not only come up to the front of the classroom, but come up there with such security that made the rest of us envious. Being part of their journey and watching them evolve as stylists and people now drives my passion.

When we start our own journeys in life most of us have no frickin' clue as to where we're going or what we want. I sure as hell didn't. If you asked me at the age of 14, what I wanted to do as I was shampooing hair and folding towels, I would have said "I have my whole life to figure it out." At that age I didn't know where I'd be today- excited and energized to help others feel confident in themselves, inside and out. I truly am grateful to be where I am and it brings me joy to share my knowledge and talent with the world. Beauty, Fitness and Lifestyle- basically the important stuff you should have learned in college and highschool! I want to help others learn how to conquer their own lives physically, mentally and spiritually. This universe is a beautiful thing- thanks for letting me be a part of yours!

-Namaste
